The Star was born in 1991.

 The Star is the intrepid physical and electronic Quarterly Newsletter of AWON.

The Star (in both its physical and electronic forms) is the heartbeat of AWON. Compiled by Star Editor Kristin Holmes, it covers personal stories of remembrance; of our Fathers’ Training, Service, Deployments, and Missions; news of Orphan and other Survivor Benefits, Unit Associations, Reunions and Conferences, our own Memorials, Meetings, and Events; lots of pictures and items of interest to the entire Orphan and Family community.
