AWON’s one-of-a-kind Database.

The American WWII Orphans Network maintains the only known database of WWII casualties and their children. Information recorded about each casualty includes full name, rank, military unit, hometown, date of death, place of death, method of death, place of burial or memorial, and wife’s maiden name. Linked to each casualty record are the names of the sons and daughters of the casualty and their current contact information including email address where known. This database is used by AWON for, among other purposes, membership management; to assist others in locating offspring of WWII casualties; and, to provide information for the conduct of annual memorials to the fallen at US military cemeteries at home and abroad. The use of the AWON database is governed by the strict privacy and confidentiality regulations of AWON. No information about a child of a WWII casualty is ever disclosed to anyone without the written authorization of the son or daughter.
